This photograph is really a set up as there was no School String Quartet in 1952.
The picture appeared in the Manchester Evening News on the 13th March 1952 to
accompany an article about Salford Grammar in a series called "Your School". The few pupils who had their instruments at school on the day were quickly mustered for the photograph and a "string quartet " it was. |
