the distance, is still
recognisable but the row of
shops on the Hanky Park side
which included John Manners -
"The School Outfitters" - is long
gone,replaced by multistorey
flats as part of the Ellor Street
redevelopment scheme.

Frederick Road. 2000

Looking down Frederick Road from its junction with
Broad Street, on the same wet April day as the
Broad Street picture above.

In the late 40's the School used to make use of
Pendleton Baths for swimming lessons but the
baths are no more.Their location was on the left of
the picture where now grow some bushes.
